Seven small tornadoes briefly developed across Mississippi over the weekend, whipping up 105 mph winds and knocking out power for thousands of people, the National Weather Service in Jackson confirmed on Monday.

The agency sent teams to assess the damage from storms that swept across the state on Sunday, impacting parts of Hinds, Attala, Choctaw, Oktibbeha, Newton, Neshoba, Kemper and Noxubee counties, the service said on Twitter. The agency hasn’t reported any injuries.

One of the tornadoes, an EF1, developed in Madison County, north of Jackson, and moved into southern Attala County, the agency said. It covered a distance of just under 7 miles.

About 2,850 Entergy customers were without power during the storm, The Clarion Ledger reported.

Crews were still working to restore service on Monday.

Southern Pine Electric reported 181 customers without power on Sunday, but those outages have since been restored, the newspaper said.

Earlier this month, 14 tornadoes formed during a spate of severe weather in Mississippi, causing injuries, property damage and power outages.
