For reasons still under investigation, Snyder’s vehicle struck the rear-end of an unoccupied Chevrolet Express Van disabled in the roadway from a preceding crash. Snyder sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on the scene.

As part of the ongoing investigation, blood samples were collected for scientific analysis.

Snyder was not restrained at the time of the crash, and impairment is not suspected.

The investigation is ongoing and no additional information is available at this time.

Louisiana State Troopers encourage motorists to make safe decisions while in motor vehicles such as never driving while impaired, always ensuring every occupant is properly restrained, and avoiding all distractions which can often mean the difference between life and death.
