Jackson police are investigating after the discovery of a man’s body found Thursday morning near railroad tracks along Ford Avenue.

Police report it appears the body was shot multiple times.

Investigators said they do not currently have an estimate of when the man was shot nor do police have any suspects or a possible motive identified.

Jackson police were also investigating a shooting that occurred earlier Thursday morning after a man arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound and later died. The man was brought to a Jackson hospital by private vehicle at approximately 6 a.m. Police say no suspects or motives have been identified in this case either.

Both deaths remain under investigation.
