Birds and the bees: Interstate shutdown after 18-wheeler carrying thousands of chicks overturns Friday morning
In the same week local and state law enforcement officials had to deal with an overturned 18-wheeler carrying bees, they are now having to deal with another reportedly carrying chicks.
Currently, all lanes of Interstate 20 westbound at the 13-mile marker is completely shut down due to an overturned 18-wheeler that was reportedly carrying more than 50,000 baby chicks.
Law enforcement officials are working to clear the accident. At 7:20 a.m., authorities were able to open one late for westbound traffic.
The accident reportedly happened around 5:30 a.m. and the driver of the truck was not injured.
