Mississippi truck driver injured when tractor-trailer careens into canal

A Mississippi truck driver was seriously injured Friday night after his truck left a Florida highway and plunged into a canal, where it became partially submerged, Florida Highway Patrol troopers reported.
Driver James Antonio Holliday, 39, of Meridian, Mississippi, was the driver. He was carrying produce when the accident occurred in Santa Rosa County.
The truck became partially submerged approximately 1,000 feet downstream, troopers reported.
Holliday was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.
