Five teens charged with murder of another after botched robbery, police report

Mississippi police are investigating what they believe to be a botched robbery that left a Mississippi teen dead. Five teenagers have been charged with capital murder.

Biloxi police report they were called for a medical emergency early Monday afternoon to a house off Popp’s Ferry Road. Upon arrival medical personnel realized the girl had been shot. She was taken to a hospital where she later died, Gulf Coast media report.

The Sun Herald newspaper reports that police think the five juveniles were attempting to rob the victim at gunpoint when a fight ensued and the victim was shot.

Arrested and charged with capital murder are: Yakeshia L. Blackmon, 17, Willow O. Blackmon, 15, Jasmine Joy-Sade Kelley, 15, Jarvis Jermaine Cook, 17, and Jaquez Devonte Porter, 17.

Four of the five were being held on $1 million bond. Cook, who was already out on bond for an aggravated assault charge, was held without bond.
