Mississippi beer brewery begins making hand sanitizer in response to coronavirus

A Mississippi beer brewery has added two new items on its beer and pizza menu — rainwater and hand sanitizer.

After noticing a shortage of sanitizer on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Lazy Magnolia Brewing Company staff members realized they could offer a solution to help their community.

Staff members of the brewery in Kiln told WLOX television on the coast they recognized they had the raw materials to make hand sanitizer and decided they could help the situation.

“This is an opportunity for us to come together, not lose our minds and not get crazy,” co-owner Mark Henderson told WLOX. “We all have the things that we need as a community to make ourselves safe and to really embrace one another. And this is just an opportunity for us to do that

The sanitizer can be bought pre-packaged for $20 or you can bring your own container and purchase it for 75 cents per ounce. Rainwater is being sold for $1 per bottle at the brewery, which is located at 7030 Roscoe Turner Road in the Kiln.
