Corona virus cases across the Deep South continue to higher.

Here are the results through Tuesday morning (note some states have not updated their numbers since yesterday):

Alabama: 949 positive cases, 13 deaths.
Arkansas: 508 positive cases, 7 deaths.
Florida: 5,489 positive cases, 71 deaths.
Georgia: 3,032 positive cases, 102 deaths.
Louisiana:  4,025 positive cases, 185 deaths.
Mississippi: 847 positive cases, 16 deaths.
Tennessee: 1,834 positives cases, 13 deaths.
Texas: 2,877 positive cases, 38 deaths.

Total cases across the Deep South: 19,561

The number of people infected worldwide surpassed the 803,000 mark. Deaths were more than 39,000, but the number of people considered recovered reached more than 172,000, according to a tally kept by Johns Hopkins University.

The University’s tracking shows approximately 164,785 cases in the U.S., making the U.S. the country with the highest number of cases in the world.

Everyone is warned to take the necessary precautions to help limit the spread of COVID-19 and stay safe and healthy.

These precautions include:

• Washing your hands for at least 20 seconds and frequently
• Covering your cough or sneeze with your arm
• Avoiding touching your face
• Routinely clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces
• Avoiding close contact with others
• And staying home if you are sick
