An Adams County, Mississippi, woman accused of killing her boyfriend last year had a $200,000 bond reduced by half in Adams County Circuit Court Friday under the direction of Judge Debra Blackwell.

Jessica Aldridge, who was impregnated while she was incarcerated at the Adams County Jail, had her bond reduced to $100,000 with specified terms and conditions for her release.

Blackwell’s order decreasing the bond states that the bond was reduced after “considering … the COVID-19 pandemic” and the potential problems because of Aldridge’s medical condition.

It was ordered that Aldridge receive an electronic monitoring device and be placed under house arrest where she must give a 24-hour advance notice to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office of any medical appointments she may have.

The order also prohibits Aldridge from having any visitors, access to the internet or contact with her children or the family of the victim, Joseph Cupit.

Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said his office did not seek the bond reduction but the reduction was requested by Aldridge’s attorney.

Aldridge’s next court appearance is scheduled for 9 a.m. on June 11.
