A Mississippi man was killed Tuesday after he apparently tried to jump a ditch along Interstate-20 in Clinton while riding a motorcycle.

Mississippi Highway Patrol troopers report that Frank Develle, 51, of Edwards, was killed while driving an off-road motorcycle on an unpaved right-of-way along the shoulder of the interstate.

Troopers say Develle attempted to jump a ditch and struck the embankment as he landed on the other side of the ditch and was thrown from the motorcycle.

He died from his injuries.
