A Mississippi man will spend 25 years in prison after admitting he struck his 2-month-old child in the head — twice — because the child wouldn’t stop crying.

Buddy Randall Cox, 23, of Gulfport was sentenced this week, WLOX-TV reported.

Cox had previously pleaded guilty to felony child abuse in the case.

The crime occurred in 2018 and was first identified after paramedics will called when the baby stopped breathing. Physicians called the police after realizing the child had suffered from a brain bleed.

The TV station reported that Cox apologized before the court and said he was high on meth and marijuana when he committed the crime.
