Police have arrested a Mississippi man in the fatal hit-and-run death of an 11-year-old girl last weekend.

Hattiesburg police say they charged James McGowan Jr., 27, of Hattiesburg, with two counts of leaving the scene of an accident causing death.

The accident occurred on Saturday and killed Leighton Hill and injured her mother. Hill was riding her bike when the accident occurred.
