A 22-year-old Tennessee man was arrested Wednesday after police say he stole a barbecue food truck in Mississippi and led police on a high-speed chase until he was eventually nabbed in Memphis.

Holly Springs police say a friend of the Smokey Corner BBQ truck called to say someone was acting suspicious around the parked truck, WREG-TV in Memphis reported.

Police stopped the suspects at an Interstate 22 on ramp.

During the police stop the suspects sped away with police officers in pursuit. Police say the suspects reached at top speed of 120 mph during the chase.

Olive Branch police deployed spikes in the roadway which flattened all of the truck’s tired and damaged the trailer’s axle, but failed to slow the thieves down.

They continued into Memphis were the truck and trailer were eventually topped.

Police said one of the suspects was Nickalaus Jones, 22, of Memphis. After extradition back to Mississippi, he’ll face a number of charges related to the stolen trailer and the chase.
