Mississippi sheriff says arrests expected soon after social media video of abuse surfaces

A Mississippi sheriff says his office is investigating a video circulating on social media that appears to show the abuse of a vulnerable person.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace told WLBT-TV that his office is “well aware” of the existence of the disturbing video in which the person is pushed down and whipped.

The sheriff told the TV station arrests were expected soon.

As happens with such viral videos, even disturbing ones, rumors have fueled speculation including that the victim in the video is someone who has been missing.

Pace said his office was not searching for anyone who was missing.
