A toddler was killed Friday morning after being run over in the parking lot of a Mississippi car wash.

Biloxi police report receiving a call from Rich’s Carwash on Popps Ferry Road at approximately 11:05 a.m. Friday.

The caller reported that a vehicle backing up in the parking lot had struck a toddler.

The toddler was taken to a local hospital but died later of the injuries sustained in the accident.

Police report the collision appears to be an accident, but that the matter remains under investigation.
