Mississippi police officer suspended for allegedly using N-word — two years ago

A Mississippi police officer has been suspended after allegedly using a racial slur when referencing another officer on the force.

Meridian police officer Joey Lawn is accused of using the N-word to describe another officer.

Lawn is a K-9 officer and has been with the city’s police department for more than 10 years.

The incident reportedly happened two years ago during a training session in Alabama, but just resurfaced, the city’s police chief said.

The officer is suspended with pay under the investigation is completed.
