The 2020 Neshoba County Fair, dubbed Mississippi’s Giant House Party, has become the latest victim of the coronavirus pandemic.
In a post on the fair’s official Facebook page Wednesday night, organizers announced the annual summer fair would be canceled over the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
The fair was established in 1889 and remains the state’s only licensed horse track.
The Neshoba County Fair is such a historic Mississippi event, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
The event features traditional fair events, agricultural programs, horse racing and political stump speeches. But it’s most known for the hospitality and family togetherness that occurs in the famous cabins that line the fairgrounds.
