The Mississippi State Health Department released details late Wednesday on which long-term care facilities across the state had experienced outbreaks of the COVID-19 coronavirus, giving the public the first glimpse at just how deadly some facilities became from the virus.

The facility with most deaths and cases associated with the virus is at Bedford Care Center in Hattiesburg. The state reported the facility had 55 staff members infected and 92 residents infected. Of those, 25 residents died from the virus.

The information released came after a Mississippi judge ruled that the public had the right to see detailed information about which long-term care facilities in response to a lawsuit filed by a Hattiesubrg newspaper, Pine Belt News.

Below is a list, by county, of each outbreak as reported by the state Wednesday.

ADAMS COUNTY
Adams County Nursing Center: 14 employee cases, 40 resident cases and 8 resident deaths.

Glenburney Health Care and Rehabilitation Center: 4 employee cases and 5 resident cases.

ALCORN COUNTY
Mississippi Care Center of Alcorn County: 1 employee case.

AMITE COUNTY
Liberty Community Living Center: 4 employee cases, 11 resident cases and 1 resident death.
