Mississippi 3-year-old shot, investigators say

A 3-year-old child has been shot in the stomach, Meridian Interim Police Chief Charles Coleman said Friday.
The child’s condition is not known.
Coleman said police received a report around 2:30 p.m. and the child was taken to Rush Foundation Hospital before being transported to a Jackson hospital.
The shooting is believed to have occurred in the 2100 block of 13th Avenue, police said.
