A Mississippi man was charged with assaulting his neighbor with a knife after a dispute over the volume of the music he was listening to.

Clinton police say they were called at approximately 10:10 p.m. Thursday to an apartment complex. There they discovered that Cornelius Henderson, 28, of Clinton, had barricaded himself into his apartment and a female neighbor injured. The victim was transported to local hospital with what is reported to be non-life threatening wounds.

Police say the female victim had requested that her neighbor, Henderson, turn down music he was playing. During their conversation, Henderson is accused of brandishing a knife and assaulting the woman.

After several hours of a standoff, police eventually entered Henderson’s apartment at approximately 2 a.m. Friday and took him into custody. He was expected to be charged with aggravated assault.
