Mississippi coronavirus case averages down again

Mississippi’s daily 7-day average of new COVID-19 coronavirus cases fell again to a more than two-week low Sunday.
The Mississippi State Department of Health reported an additional 236 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours bringing the total cases to 17,270.
The state announced Sunday 6 new deaths were attributed to the virus bringing the total death toll to 817.
Mississippi’s 7-day average of new cases dropped to 253 per day. The record high of the 7-day average of new cases is 328 and was set on Monday.
The 14-day average of daily new cases decreased slightly Sunday to 287 cases per day.
Mississippi’s death toll from coronavirus includes 425 people from long-term care facilities or 52 percent of the total deaths.
