A Mississippi man has been charged with murdering his own mother during an argument.

Investigators say John McMillan, 50, of the Allis community in Attala County, got into an altercation with his mother, Pollyana McMillan on Wednesday.

The victim was transported to a hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries on Thursday.

John McMillian was being held in the Leake County Jail on a $250,000 bond for second-degree murder.
