Two dead after motorcyclist tried to pass on Mississippi highway, struck another vehicle

A motorcyclist and his passenger were killed Tuesday evening on a stretch of Mississippi highway after a collision with another vehicle.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol reports that William Simmons was traveling with his passenger Tina Simmons on U.S. Highway 51 near Cut Off Road north of Senatobia when he attempted to pass another vehicle.
The motorcycle struck a Toyota headed in the opposite way. Both Simmons and his passenger were killed. The driver of the Toyota was hospitalized with injuries.
Troopers say the crash is under investigation.
