One escaped Mississippi inmate captured, second still on run
One of two inmates who escaped from a county jail in Mississippi was recaptured in Chicago, the local mayor said.
Police had been searching for escaped inmates Marcus Bridges and Desmond Fortenberry since the pair escaped the Jefferson Davis County late last month.
Prentiss Mayor Charley Dumas reported Friday that escapee Marcus Bridges had been captured by U.S. Marshals in Chicago.
Fortenberry remains at large. He is a suspect in a Jefferson Davis County murder.
