A Georgia high school that gained national attention last week when photos showing a school hallway packed with students went viral has closed temporarily after multiple students and staff tested positive for the virus, state media reported.

North Paulding High School students were informed Saturday that the school would be closed on Monday and Tuesday in a letter from the school district’s superintendent.

The letter stated that three staff members and six students had tested positive for the COVID-19 coronavirus.

The school is located in a suburb of Atlanta.

The photos that brought attention to the school showed not only students packed closely with one another, but also students without masks. Health experts say both could allow the virus to spread more quickly.
