Twin 3-year-olds dead after Mississippi apartment fire
Twin Mississippi 3-year-olds have died after an apartment fire in Greenwood, Mississippi.
The fire broke out Thursday afternoon.
The 3-year-old girl, Ah’Shia Smart, was pronounced dead, presumably of smoke inhalation, later that day at the local hospital.
Her twin brother, Ah’Shad Smart managed to survive until the next day before he also died.
First responders said neither of the two children appeared to have any visible burns, leading them to believe they had been overcome by smoke.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
