Eight months after a sudden and massive brain bleed and stroke sent the life of a Mississippi alderman into a tailspin, his family and friends welcomed him home Saturday with a parade in his neighborhood.

Madison alderman Warren Strain suffered a massive brain bleed and stroke on Dec. 23 which left him in a coma for weeks.

The brain injury left Strain, a former TV news reporter and public spokesman, fighting for his life.

His wife Sandra Strain has kept family, friends and the public informed on his condition via social media posts.

Sandra told WLBT-TV, where Warren used to work, that Saturday’s homecoming parade left her feeling “overwhelmed.”

“I can’t believe that they would do something like that for us,” she told WLBT.

Sandra said her husband has been in hospital after hospital since the medical problem occurred.

She said he remains paralyzed on one half of his body which has left him bed-bound and requiring around-the-clock care.
