Mississippi’s 7-day rolling average of new daily coronavirus cases just hit 2-month low

Mississippi reported a lower-than-average number of new COVID-19 coronavirus cases again Sunday driving the rolling 7-day average of daily new cases to the lowest level since late June.
On Sunday, the state reported 410 new coronavirus cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours.
The state also reported 16 more deaths Sunday from the prior day. Of the deaths reported Sunday, the state said seven actually occurred between August 6 and August 27
In total, 86,888 cases have been found in the state since March. The state believes approximately 68,000 of those cases have recovered.
A total of 2,584 people in Mississippi have died as a result of coronavirus, the state reported.
The 7-day, daily average of new cases dropped to 602 with Sunday’s update.
The 14-day, daily average dropped to 642 cases per day.
