Police hopeful necklace will provide clue to ID body found on Mississippi highway
A man’s body found was found alongside a stretch of Mississippi highway and authorities are hopeful a small, green cross the man was wearing could provide a clue to who he is.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation confirmed Monday its agents were assisting the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office with determining who the man was and how it wound up dead on the side of Mississippi Highway 18 east of Pachuta.
MBI agents said they were seeking the public’s help and are hopeful someone will recognize the cross necklace.
Police have not said how they believe he died. They’ve only described him as a black male between 50 and 60 years old. Investigators say the man weighed approximately 240 to 260 pounds and was approximately 5-foot, 8-inches to 5-foot, 10-inches tall.
If you recognize the cross necklace or have additional information about the man, please contact the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office at 601-776-3956.
