A man’s body found was found alongside a stretch of Mississippi highway and authorities are hopeful a small, green cross the man was wearing could provide a clue to who he is.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation confirmed Monday its agents were assisting the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office with determining who the man was and how it wound up dead on the side of Mississippi Highway 18 east of Pachuta.

MBI agents said they were seeking the public’s help and are hopeful someone will recognize the cross necklace.
