Police are investigating the Saturday night shooting death of a 3-month-old child in Mississippi.

WTOK-TV in Meridian reports the Lauderdale County Coroner confined the baby was pronounced dead after the baby was dropped off at Meridian hospital.

The coroner told the TV station that it appeared the baby had been shot in the head.

Meridian police did not respond to the TV station’s attempts to reach out for additional information.
