A Vicksburg teenager was shot and killed late Monday night as he walked along a street.

According to the few details available from the Vicksburg Police Department, the shooting took place just before midnight on the 1200 block of Bowmar Avenue as the boy, 14, was walking along the street with a group of others.

Officials said the teenager died at the scene.

The department said the murder remains under investigation and would provide more details as they were available.
