A Georgia police officer clocked a motorcyclist going more than 175 mph Sunday on a state highway, so fast the officer didn’t try to stop him.

The Alpharetta (Georgia) Department of Public Safety posted an image the officer took of his radar gun and posted on the department’s social media as a warning.

The radar indicated 178 mph. The speed limit in that section of Georgia Highway 400 is 65 mph.

“Hopefully, the driver of the sport bike matures a little before a tragedy happens,” the department posted.

The speed of the motorcycle was so fast that that officer did not try to stop the motorcyclist, instead he radioed a description — the best available of what was likely a blur — to other law officers in the motorcycle’s path. No word on whether the speedy biker was ultimately stopped.
