The latest: Mississippi’s coronavirus case numbers, county by county

Mississippi’s trailing averages of new COVID-19 coronavirus cases dropped slightly Saturday with the latest statistics released from the state.

On Saturday, the state reported 445 new coronavirus cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours.

The state also reported 15 new deaths Saturday.

In total, 89,620 cases have been found in the state since March. The state believes approximately 74,000 of those cases have recovered.

A total of 2,685 people in Mississippi have died as a result of coronavirus, the state reported.

The 7-day, daily average of new cases dropped to 449 with Saturday’s update.

The 14-day, daily average dropped to 542  cases per day.

Totals of all reported COVID-19 cases for 2020, including those in long-term care (LTC) facilities.
