A Mississippi man is accused of trying to lure children into a van whose interior doors had been altered, presumably to prevent escape.
Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office investigators said Maurice Anthony Williams was arrested in Isola, Mississippi, and charged with three counts of child exploitation.
He allegedly was luring children as well as one adult into the van for sexual favors, the sheriff’s office reported.
Investigators said the locks on Williams’ white had been modified and a photo released of the van seemed to show dark tinting on the side windows.
Williams was held on $50,000 bond and, if he makes bail, will be required to have no contact with anyone in Humphreys County and cannot leave the state, the court ordered.
The case will be presented to a grand jury to determine the next phase, the sheriff’s office said.
