Mississippi woman charged with child abuse after police say she operated unlicensed daycare at home

A Mississippi woman was arrested this week and charged with felony child abuse after law enforcement investigators say she was operating an unlicensed daycare in her home.

Kelsey Perry, 29, of New Hope, Mississippi, was arrested, the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Investigators said Perry had been running the unlicensed child care business from her residence since at least July.

Sheriff’s Office nvestigators said they also received a report that Perry had abused a child in her care, though they declined to provide details about what allegedly happened or the age of the victim.
