The latest: Mississippi’s daily coronavirus cases on rise
Mississippi’s 7-day, daily average of new COVID-19 coronavirus cases rose Sunday with the latest results released from the state.
The Mississippi State Health Department reported 321 new coronavirus cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours.
The state also reported two additional deaths Sunday; one of those deaths occurred on September 3.
In total, 100,488 cases have been found in the state since March. The state believes approximately 89,700 of those cases have recovered.
A total of 3,013 people in Mississippi have died as a result of coronavirus, the state reported.
The 7-day, daily average of new cases rose to 518 with Sunday’s update.
The 14-day, daily average rose to 509 cases per day.
