Mississippi man filmed burning Biden campaign signs

A disagreement over political signs went up in flames — literally — for two neighbors in North Mississippi.

WREG News in Memphis reports that a Marshall County woman filmed her neighbor burning her Biden for President campaign signs along the highway.

Francine Boga said she placed the signs along the roadside in what she believed to the public right-of-way. Her neighbor, Brain Gurley, disagreed and said he was aggravated by having to pick up signs out of what he said was his yard. Gurley, who said he chooses not display campaign signs for Donald Trump or Joe Biden, said he had been collecting the Biden signs for five days in a row.

Gurley said he decided to build a bonfire because it was rainy and cold and used the Biden signs that he had collected in his trunk.

Boga said she doesn’t believe her neighbor and that he should not have destroyed her signs.

A spokesman for the Marshall County NAACP said that Gurley was burning the signs to intimidate voters.

Tempers flared over the issue Tuesday afternoon and Marshall County deputies later arrived after Gurley accused Boga of trespassing.

There is no indication about whether any charges have been filed in the case.
