One arrested in Halloween shooting that killed two people, injured another

One person has been arrested in connection with a Halloween shooting in north Mississippi that killed two people and left another person injured.

Southaven Police officials say that officers responded to a report of a shooting shortly after 9 p.m. in the area of Southaven Circle and Vaught Circle, where they found three people who had been shot.

Police say two of the victims were pronounced dead on the scene. The third victim was taken to Regional One Medical Center.

Sunday morning, the U.S. Marshals arrested Jeffery Walker of Memphis in connection with the shooting. Marshals arrested Walker at an apartment in the 6800 block of Club Ridge Circle in Memphis.

The U.S. Marshals say Walker was taken into custody without incident.

Officers determined the shooting happened at a family gathering, where an argument broke out between guests. The argument reportedly turned violent. Police say the suspects and the victims knew each other.

Names of the victims were not released.
