Gulf Coast officials are investigating after the body of a man was found on a Mississippi beach Saturday night.

Officials with the Ocean Springs Police Department say a man was found around 5:30 p.m. near the Yacht Club in Ocean Springs.

Police believe the man drowned while he was swimming in the Biloxi Bay.

The identity of the man has not been reported and the case remains under investigation, police say.
