The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a cyclist who was killed in an accident on US 45 Thursday morning.

WTVA News reports that the cyclist died in an accident north of Columbus shortly before 11 a.m.

Authorities have not released the victim’s name.

MHP is investigating and is expected to release more details of the accident at a later time.
