A Mississippi Police Department arrested a man after finding a large amount of illegal narcotics.
Picayune Police Department detectives searched 1623 Rosa Street Tuesday after an ongoing investigation.
During the execution of the warrant, Perry Burnett was arrested for aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. Officers found alleged cocaine and crack cocaine. There was also reported to be a large amount of money that was seized due to being obtained through illegal narcotics activity.
“In order for someone to be charged with aggravated trafficking, it has to be 200 grams or more of an illegal controlled substance,” a PPD statement reads. “This was substantially more than that amount. Again, if you are poisoning our great city with drugs and drug dealing, we’re coming for you! You will be in prison, rest assured. If you think we won’t find out, you’re only fooling yourself!”
