Two homeless people have been arrested after they reportedly carjacked a person who gave them a ride from a Mississippi hotel.

Joseph Anthony White, 27, and Julie Ann Anders, 38, were arrested and charged with carjacking in a Nov. 14 incident.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department reports that a victim picked up White and Anders from an Ocean Springs hotel and then drove the pair to a location near Highway 57.

White and Anders then reportedly stole the victim’s car in what is being described as an unarmed carjacking.

KK-9 units were able to locate White and Anders at a vacant home in Vancleave, where they were arrested. Officials say the stolen vehicle was recovered.
