One person was killed in a fiery crash on the Mississippi interstate Monday night.

WAPT in Jackson reports that the crash occurred on Interstate 220 near Medgar Evers Boulevard in Jackson Monday night,

Jackson police say the incident happened after a woman experienced a medical emergency. The vehicle the woman was driving reportedly ran off the road, crashed into a tree, and then burst into flames.

A minor, who was in the vehicle at the time of the wreck, was able to escape, officials said.

The identity of the female victim, who died at the scene, has not been released.
