Mississippi police report that a 4-year-old boy shot his uncle Friday night.

WLBT in Jackson reports that officers responded to a call at 8:20 p.m. Friday about a man in his 30s being shot on Camilla Lane in Jackson.

When officers arrived at the scene, the man who was shot told officers his 4-year-old nephew found his gun and when he went to retrieve the gun, the gun fired and shot the uncle in the abdomen.

The uncle’s injuries are believed to be non-threatening.

The incident is under investigation.
