Mississippi Skies: Severe risk added for Mississippi’s weather forecast. When will storms arrive?

Published 9:56 pm Monday, December 4, 2023

Tuesday is going to be a gorgeous day across the state with sunny skies and breezy temperatures slightly above average.

Our temperatures will drop soon, though, as freezing temps will reach all the way to the I-10 corridor Wednesday night. Then, we’ll warm back up with sunny skies the rest of the week.

As the temperatures warm, we’ll also have a strong storm system developing in the region. Although models don’t agree on the timing or the strength of the system, the Storm Prediction Center has already issued Level 1 and 2 risks for parts of Mississippi Saturday afternoon and Saturday night. Right now, all modes of severe weather are possible. We’ll keep watching to get a better understanding over the next couple of days.
