A Mississippi man is facing bond of $100,000 after being arrested for driving under the influence resulting in a fatality.

According to the Tupelo Police Department, officers were dispatched to Highway 45 near McCullough Boulevard after a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle Saturday.

Officers were able to locate a victim. He was pronounced deceased at the location. The driver of a vehicle still on the scene was taken into custody.

Jontavis Daniels, 30, of Tupelo, was charged. His bond was set on Monday. He is awaiting the charges to be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury.
