One person is in custody after leading an early morning high-speed chase through parts of Louisiana and Mississippi Friday.
The Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies provided critical assistance to the Bogalusa Police Department  during a high-speed pursuit along Highway 21N, involving a vehicle with Mississippi license plate.
The chase, which extended into Marion County, saw the suspect’s vehicle successfully evading spike strips deployed by law enforcement. In a dramatic turn of events, the pursuit concluded on Pickwick Road, where the female driver of the vehicle abandoned her car and attempted to flee on foot.
Thanks to the swift and strategic response of WPSO deputies and BPD officers, the suspect was apprehended without further incident. We are pleased to report that the situation is now “code 4,” indicating no further assistance is needed, and there is no additional danger to the public.
This successful operation stands as a testament to the dedication and expertise of our law enforcement personnel, who work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of our community. We commend all the officers involved for their exceptional service and commitment to public safety.
Further details regarding the incident and the identity of the suspect will be released as the investigation progresses. We are grateful for the community’s support and cooperation during this incident.
