Police: Mississippi man who intentionally threw roofing nails on roadways arrested in at least 17 incidents

A Mississippi man has been arrested after being accused of intentionally dumping roofing nails and tacks on several roads.

WLOX in Biloxi reports that Jody C. Barcelona, 60, of Long Beach, was arrested and charged with Leaving Dangerous Subtances on the Roadway.

Barcelona is accused in at least 17 incidents that started occurring on Nov. 23.

Numerous reports have been made about incidents in the area of Alexander Road between Pineville Road and Benton Drive. Roofing nails have also been reportedly found near Kohler Street.

Police report that Barcelona reportedly threw several bags of nails out “in the roadway with intent to damage vehicle tires.”

The Long Beach Police Department is asking people who have information about this incident to call them at 228-865-1981.
