19-year-old killed when car is fired upon multiple times at stoplight on Mississippi highway

Authorities are looking for “persons of interest” after shooters reportedly fired upon a car at a stoplight, killing a 19-year-old and injuring another person.

WLBT in Jackson reports that Dshun Coleman, 19, was killed Wednesday at a traffic light on Highway 17 south of Lexington.

The car Coleman was in the car that was shot multiple times at a traffic light in the area known as “Balance Due.”

Authorities report that the car had been heading north when multiple shooters shot at the car. At least one of the shooters fired a weapon from the side of the road, officials said.

The driver of the car, a 14-year-old, sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the shooting. The 14-year-old has not been identified because of his age.

Three “persons of interest” are currently being sought by the Holmes County Sheriff’s office.
